First in Service Charity Football Tournament Raises £4,700 for Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital Charity

On Thursday 25th June, First in Service welcomed customers, suppliers, colleagues and friends to Coleshill Town Football Club for our inaugural Charity Football Tournament, raising an incredible £4,700 for Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital Charity.

What started as a simple idea to bring businesses together through football became an afternoon of friendly competition, networking and fundraising, with eight businesses taking to the pitch in support of a fantastic cause.

"Our Charity Football Tournament was a first for First in Service, but it certainly won't be the last. Raising £4,700 is something we're incredibly proud of, and it marks the start of our two-year partnership with Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital Charity. We look forward to supporting the charity, contributing to meaningful projects, and making a real difference over the coming years." - Kevin Fletcher. Managing Director, First in Service

Eight Teams. One Great Cause.

The tournament brought together teams representing:

• First in Service A

• First in Service B

• Time Logistics

• Concept Environmental

• Xylem

• TF Solutions

• Wolseley

• Hardyman & Co

From the opening whistle, there was a brilliant atmosphere around the ground. While every team wanted to win, the day was about much more than football. It was an opportunity to strengthen relationships, meet new people and raise money for Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital Charity.

With spectators, customers, suppliers and colleagues cheering from the sidelines, the event created exactly the community spirit we had hoped for.

Competitive Group Stage

The standard of football throughout the day was excellent, with plenty of goals and some fiercely contested matches.

Group A saw Time Logistics finish top of the table after an unbeaten campaign, collecting seven points from their three matches and scoring an impressive 19 goals. Concept Environmental also progressed to the knockout stages after remaining unbeaten, finishing second with five points.

In Group B, Xylem produced a flawless group-stage performance, winning all three matches without conceding a single goal. TF Solutions secured second place to complete the semi-final line-up after two victories from their three games.

Although not every team progressed beyond the group stage, every player contributed to making the tournament competitive, entertaining and enjoyable for everyone watching.

Semi-Finals and Final

The knockout stages delivered exactly the drama everyone had hoped for.

The first semi-final saw Time Logistics take on TF Solutions, with Time Logistics edging a closely fought contest 1–0 to secure the first place in the final.

The second semi-final featured Xylem against Concept Environmental. Another tightly contested game saw Xylem come through with a 1–0 victory, setting up a final between the two standout teams from the group stage.

The final was a fitting end to a fantastic afternoon of football. Both sides defended brilliantly and created chances, but it was Xylem who found the decisive goal to claim a 1–0 victory over Time Logistics and lift the inaugural First in Service Charity Football Tournament trophy.

Congratulations to Xylem on becoming our first tournament champions, and to Time Logistics for an excellent tournament as worthy runners-up.

More Than Just Football

While the football provided plenty of entertainment, the event was equally about bringing people together.

Throughout the afternoon, guests enjoyed informal networking, refreshments and the opportunity to catch up with customers, suppliers and industry contacts in a relaxed environment.

The event demonstrated how sport can provide a fantastic platform for building relationships while supporting an important cause. It was great to see businesses from across our network connecting away from the workplace and enjoying the day together.
